Our show is getting closer and dress rehearsal is coming right up. I wanted to take a moment to tell you a little bit about how things go at dress rehearsal.
You will find a list of dress rehearsal and the show order on our website in the director's corner blog for your reference.
Dress rehearsals are held over a three day period (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday June 18, 19 and 20) at Higley Center for the Performing Arts. Again, dress rehearsal is held at Higley Center for the Performing Arts.
At dress rehearsal, we ask that you come fully dressed with make up and hair done.
You can come through the main entrance and into the theater and sit down. We will show a brief information video at the beginning of each rehearsal period so please arrive on time.
If you have multiple numbers you can first go to the dressing rooms to put your costumes and then head out into the theater.
Once your dancer has practiced on the stage, you are free to go unless you have additional numbers.
There is no food or drinks in the backstage area except in the green room. We recommend you eat before you arrive, or after you leave. We prefer you keep food to a minimum. Please don’t allow your children to eat food while wearing their costume.
Be sure and put your name on all your costume parts and shoes so that we can return them if they are misplaced.
We ask that you put some simple make up on your dancer for both dress rehearsal and the recital as stage lights tend to wash out facial features.
You are free to watch as much of dress rehearsal as you would like. Many people find it very fascinating and entertaining to see the process of creating a show!
Please be patient as we move through each number. Creating a production takes time and we appreciate your kindness and grace during these high pressure moments.
Feel free to take photos and video during dress rehearsal as we do not allow that during the actual show. Definitely no flash photography at any time. We do have some photographs that become available and our video downloads are available six weeks after the show.
We know you will love our presentation. We take a great deal of pride in creating it and know that your kids and you will have a wonderful experience. If you have any further questions, please contact the front desk at 480-813-7827 or email to desertstardance@gmail.com
